■ Electrical Cable Pipes
The local authorities of Singapore, namely
the Power Grid and the Singapore
Telecom use uPVC pipes as protection
to the electrical and telecommunication
cables respectively.
The electrical cables are encase in SS141
(Equivalent to BS3505 or AS1477) Class
B uPVC pipes before being haunch in
concrete. The pipes serve as a formwork
to the cable installation and as a
protection against future excavation and
soil movement. It also allows for future
connection/extension to be made.
